We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Front Office Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and experience with insurance verifications. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they enter our facility.
Responsibilities- Patient Engagement:
Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the office; verify and update patient information, including demographics and insurance details; answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner. - Insurance Verification:
Conduct pre-authorization and verification of insurance benefits prior to patient appointments; communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary information regarding coverage and eligibility; ensure that all insurance information is accurately documented in patient records. - Administrative Support:
Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar effectively; prepare and maintain patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations; assist with billing processes, including the submission of claims and follow-up on unpaid claims. - Collaboration:
Work closely with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow and address any patient concerns; assist with any other clerical duties as needed to support the front office operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification preferred.
- Proven experience in a front office or medical assistant role, particularly in insurance verification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
