Overview

The University Of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the Behavioral Health Provider/Senior Behavioral Health Provider, UNLV Student Wellness - Student Health and Faculty Staff Treatment [R0150469]. This is a full-time, 12-month position within the UNLV Student Wellness Center (SHC), a AAAHC accredited clinic. The SHC is part of the Student Wellness Unit and collaborates with multiple student services to serve a diverse student population.

Role

of the Position

The Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) delivers brief clinical mental health care interventions on site in the SHC. Responsibilities include receiving warm hand-offs from medical providers, triaging students with mental health concerns, conducting initial clinical assessments, administering brief evidence-based interventions, providing acute crisis assessments and interventions (which may include voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations), and offering treatment recommendations and referrals when indicated. The BHP also facilitates psycho educational groups and workshops appropriate to the primary care setting and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical and mental health team.

Responsibilities
  • Receive warm hand-offs from medical providers and triage students presenting with mental health concerns.
  • Conduct initial clinical assessments and administer brief evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide acute crisis assessments and interventions, including voluntary or involuntary hospitalizations when necessary.
  • Provide treatment recommendations and referrals as indicated.
  • Facilitate psycho educational groups and workshops relevant to the primary care setting.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of medical and mental health providers to support patient care and the medical team.
Minimum Qualifications

Behavioral Health Provider: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work (LCSW), marriage and family therapy (LMFT), professional counselor (LCPC), or related field, plus one year of related professional experience providing mental health services. Nevada licensure for independent practice is required prior to start of employment.

Senior Behavioral Health Provider: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work (LCSW), marriage and family therapy (LMFT), professional counselor (LCPC), or related field, plus five years of related professional experience at the master’s level of independent practice providing mental health services. Nevada licensure for independent practice is required prior to start of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing mental health services within a medical setting.

Other Requirements

All candidates must pass a background screening. Employees of the UNLV Student Wellness Center must comply with the Student Wellness Center Employee Exposure to Communicable Disease (Prevention of) Policy.

Salary

Behavioral Health Provider salary range: $76,649 – $84,518. Unable to offer more than the stated range.

Senior Behavioral Health Provider salary range: $87,801 – $93,637. Unable to offer more than the stated range.
