Position: MEDICAL ASSISTANT - NEW PRIMARY CARE LOCATION

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will be a full‑time, dual front‑office/back‑office role at the New Primary Care office at South Summerlin PCP, Valley Health Physician Alliance in Las Vegas, NV. The position requires assisting in patient examination and treatment under physician direction, including measuring vital signs, venipuncture, and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in decision‑making and process improvement.
  • Ensures patient rooms, nursing station, and storage rooms are stocked, clean, and maintained in accordance with infection prevention standards.
  • Distributes referrals as necessary and maintains proper documentation in patient charts.
  • Pre‑authorises prescriptions and clinical tests (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.) as required.
  • Phon/faxes patient prescriptions.
  • Schedules diagnostic imaging studies, dietician appointments, cardiology testing, and radiology testing for patients and completes all appropriate paperwork.
  • Accurately performs clinical duties, including triaging patients, checking vitals, administering injections and venipunctures, and prepping patients for physician exam.
  • Functions as a dual‑role front and back‑office Medical Assistant.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion or at least one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Experience with patient check‑in and check‑out process according to clinic protocol.
  • Knowledge of general medical office procedures.
  • Understanding of end‑of‑day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process according to clinic protocol.
