Job SummaryCornerstone Staffing Solutions seeks a hand professional to join our client’s expert surgical team as an Occupational Therapist
, treating various upper extremity disorders such as tendon injuries, sprains, strains, post‑operative fractures, and more. The role requires a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification or a willingness to acquire it, as well as skills in custom splinting and other occupational hand practices.
Reporting to the Department CHT Lead and surgeons, you will develop and implement individualized treatment programs, collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team, and support patients throughout their recovery.
Primary Responsibilities- Deliver hand therapy services, including evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re‑evaluation, discharge, and communications.
- Conduct patient evaluations upon physician referral and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient’s age and needs.
- Act as a case manager for assigned patients, maintaining accurate records and updating plans with physician approval as required.
- Educate patients and families on therapy procedures, home programs, and assistive devices.
- Collaborate with rehabilitation team, families, physicians, and third‑party payers to discuss patient progress and program changes.
- Foster positive interactions with staff and clients, encouraging teamwork.
- Stay updated on Occupational Therapy research and practice Evidence‑Based Practice.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, reporting safety issues.
- Preferred – 1+ years in acute hospital or outpatient hand clinic (new graduates with experience may be considered).
- Experience in custom splinting pre‑ and post‑operative orthopedic care.
- Strong foundational skills across Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration.
- Ability to meet physical demands of lifting, pushing, and pulling patients and equipment.
- National registration and state licensure or registration required.
- Current Nevada Occupational Therapy license and AHA (or equivalent) BLS certification.
- Certified Hand Therapist preferred.
- CPR certification.
