Position Overview

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will be responsible for implementing behavior plans, collecting data, and working closely with adults with developmental disabilities in both individual and group settings. You will collaborate with a team of professionals to promote skill development, social integration, and overall well‑being for clients served by The Garden Foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement personalized plans
  • Teaching functional communication skills
  • Accurately collect and record behavioral data according to the client’s person‑centered plan
  • Support clients in developing communication, social, academic, and daily living skills
  • Implement strategies for managing and reducing challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement and evidence‑based practices
  • Collaborate with the team to monitor progress and adjust plans to meet each client’s needs
  • Communicate effectively with family members and other team members to discuss progress, concerns, and plan updates
  • Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance skills and stay up‑to‑date on behavior analytic techniques and best practices
Qualifications
  • Active certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and team members
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor with a passion for working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Reliable, responsible, and professional work ethic
Education And Experience
  • Must be 21 years and older
  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Agreement to transport individuals if deemed necessary
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Nevada Registration and active auto insurance policy
  • Safe and working personal vehicle
  • Clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • Preferred:
    Experience with in education (e.g., teaching, assisting in a classroom, studying education)
  • Preferred:
    One (1) year of verifiable work experience in health care, day care, mental health, education or related field
  • Preferred:
    Experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities
  • Preferred:
    Prior experience as an RBT or in a behavioral health setting
