ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

- Part-Time/Temporary Position – This position is part time/temporary and DOES NOT include health or medical benefits. Hours will not exceed 500 per calendar year.
- Pay Considerations – The hourly pay for this position is $60.00
- Work Schedule – This position supports an operation that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You must be able to work any shift (days, swings, or graveyard), and any day of the week, to include weekends and holidays. Overtime may apply. Currently, the schedule consists of 10-hour shifts 4 to 5 days a month.
THE ROLE
Under general direction, provides professional mental health and wellness services to public safety personnel and their family members. Supports employees in managing occupational stress, trauma, and personal challenges through proactive engagement, clinical support, education, and crisis intervention. With a focus on confidentiality, accessibility, and ethical clinical practice, this part-time position entails both on-site and in-field duties. Position does not diagnose.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or closely related field.
Two (2) years of professional work experience in mental health counseling, crisis intervention, substance abuse counseling, public safety, or a closely related field.
Licenses and Certifications
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Nevada.
- Must obtain and maintain certification in ICISF Individual and Group Critical Stress Incident Management (CISM) within six (6) months of hire.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Nevada state driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- Incumbents in positions that require possession of valid licensing/certification as a condition of employment must obtain and maintain such credentials within the established time periods, and throughout the course of employment. Failure to obtain or maintain required licenses or certifications in good standing may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
SELECTION PROCESS

- The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume – The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. Dates to be determined.
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%) Dates to be determined
- Pre-Employment Screening – Background Screening/Investigation includes an extensive background check, polygraph/CVSA examination, medical/drug screen. All top-scoring candidates must pass the Background Investigation to move forward. Background check processing may take 3 to 4 months. Disqualifying behaviors include:
• Any felony conviction.
• Any domestic violence conviction.
• Gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
