Job Overview

A privately owned, multi-state company based in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing finance team. As a senior member of the finance team, this role exercises sound professional judgment, partners cross-functionally to support accurate reporting, and contributes to process improvements that strengthen the overall finance function. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of PFC Group of Companies’ financial reporting and accounting operations.

This position is responsible for leading assigned areas of the monthly and annual close processes, preparing and analyzing financial statements, reconciling complex accounts, and maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and accountable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

Working Hours

This is an in-office position with the general working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Duties & Essential Functions
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Lead assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and internal management reports
  • Perform detailed variance analysis and provide explanations to leadership
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Serve as subject matter expert for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including analysis of trends and variances
  • Lead preparation of schedules for year-end audit and serve as primary contact for assigned audit areas
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Manage accounting for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist with system enhancements, reporting automation, or ERP optimization as needed
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and preparation of financial statements
  • Experience supporting monthly and annual close processes
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Net Suite preferred) and advanced Excel
