The company provides aftermarket commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing maintenance and repair services to clients. It is headquartered in Las Vegas, NV and has a workforce of 200+ employees. The company serves large, multi-location chain corporations — including banks, retailers, and quick-service restaurants — that require comprehensive facility and general maintenance services for their property portfolios.

SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager is a financial professional responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company’s accounting operations, ensuring financial statement accuracy, maintaining internal controls, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations, ultimately providing key financial insights to management for decision-making purposes. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

There are 3 direct reports for the Accounting Manager:

  • 2 Staff Accountants
  • Accounts Receivable

The immediate tasks for the Accounting Manager are:

  • Setting up the processes and timelines for a 5 day close
  • Ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled by the 20th of the month
  • Ensuring Daily Cash and Credit Card Reconciliation
  • Assisting with Transition from Quickbooks to Sage Intacct

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Financial Reporting:
    Preparing and reviewing accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statements), including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Assist in the development and management of the company’s annual budget, monitoring variances against the budget, and providing financial forecasts to management.
  • Internal Controls:
    Assist in implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Review balance sheet account reconciliation, journal entries, and review of new vendor set up.
  • Financial Analysis:
    Analyzing financial data to identify trends, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making. Create location P&L statements to review with location management.
  • Audit Coordination:
    Collaborate with external and/or internal auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
  • AR / Cash Application:
    Oversee Staff responsible for posting deposits and identifying credit/collection issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY
  • 5 to 7 years accounting experience with 1 to 2 years of supervising a staff
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Extensive experience in accounting and financial management roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools
  • Ability to work within deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
  • An ideal candidate will have some public account and construction and/or service industry experience.
  • Experience with percentage of completion revenue recognition or inventory accounting.
  • CPA desired but not required.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
  • All prospective employees must pass a background check.
  • General office environment, except when on project site when one could encounter environmental/atmospheric conditions.
