Position SummaryAs the Credit Manager, you will play an integral part in supporting our business today and planning our business for tomorrow. You will be responsible for managing a diverse customer portfolio and engaging directly with customers and Core-Mark personnel to identify and mitigate customer credit risk through pro‑active credit management. The Credit Manager is responsible for actively monitoring and evaluating both existing and new prospective customers to ensure that customer terms, conditions and credit limits are appropriate relative to known and potential risks.
The Credit Manager will oversee the work of the credit analyst(s) and work closely and proactively with Core-Mark employees at both the Corporate and Division level.
- Salary: $70,000 – $80,000
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Investigate and verify the financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit and leverage system resources including Bectran to establish proposed credit limits and payment terms in accordance with Core‑Mark policies.
- Leverage SAP Financial Supply Chain Management tools—including the Collection Module, Credit Module and Dispute Management Module—to prioritize daily activities, identify and evaluate at‑risk customers, monitor key credit performance metrics, and implement ship/no‑ship or customer hold decisions.
- Partner with division personnel—including the Division Finance Director and Division President—to communicate credit risks, adequacy of accounts receivable reserves, and factors influencing key accounts receivable performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with credit management policies and procedures and associated standards of operations.
- Interact closely with the Executive Business Services accounts receivable team responsible for applying customer payments and credit memos, reconciling accounts and communicating disputes; oversee the risk mitigation, accuracy and collectability of accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with the division sales team and national account sales team on customer collections efforts and identification of unusual or at‑risk customer activity.
- Effectively leverage outside collection agencies or attorneys to enhance customer collections when internal efforts have failed.
- Identify opportunities to improve the timeliness of collections and accuracy of cash and credit memo application by collaborating with customers and the EBS team.
- Monitor, influence and drive improvement to key performance metrics pertaining to accounts receivable such as days sales outstanding, customer terms and limits, timeliness of collections and dispute resolution.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls designed to mitigate risks including fraud.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Minimum of five years of credit management experience.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
