Overview
A Cage Clerk is responsible for assisting customers in the exchange of U.S. currency for casino chips, credit chips, cash, foreign currency, Golden Nugget documents, negotiable instruments, and ambassadors of company good will. This role also sells gambling chips, tokens, or tickets to casino patrons, pays out jackpots and manages credit applications. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities:
- Control and accounting of transactions for the cage window, main bank, chip bank and check bank.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Responsible for the impress bank issued.
- Performs guest and in house monetary transactions.
- Balance and issue impress bank to Floor Attendants, Food and Beverage and Hotel employees.
- Report and log all Title 31 transactions.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Computer input and 10-key experience preferred but not required. Previous experience in operating money counter helpful. The abilities above are typically acquired through related two months of on-the-job training or through related experience.
- Remain standing for majority of shift and to move around count room in an efficient manner.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Control Board Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe policies and procedures.
- Push/pull a full slot bill validator drop cart with assistance.
- Work as a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must be available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
- Team Player with a guest first attitude.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- PLEASE NOTE:
THIS POSITION REQUIRES A GAMING LICENSE BY THE NEVADA GAMING CONTROL BOARD.
Experience preferred but will train willing individual.
Mathematical SkillsBasic math skills.
Language SkillsMust be able to speak and understand English.
Physical Demands- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
- Frequently stooping, reaching.
- Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
- Work with others in close spaces.

USD $16.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
