Position: TECHNICIAN (PART TIME) - SLOT

Position Summary

It is the responsibility of the Slot Technician to complete shop repairs, rebuild slot games, and complete hands‑on training of all gaming devices and related systems while providing excellent guest service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures, within the framework and intent of the Plaza Mission Statement.

5 Specific Job Functions
  • Repair and maintain slot machine components, including circuit board assemblies, including but not limited to: power supplies, voucher printers, bill validators, and video monitors.
  • Use the surface mount solder station for the removal and replacement of circuit board components.
  • Test slot equipment using digital multi‑meter, oscilloscope, Huntron tracker, monitor test equipment, capacitor, and inductor analyzer.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment using manufacturer testers and manuals, wiring diagrams, and the internet.
  • Assist with daily projects and maintenance on the slot floor when necessary.

Job Duties
  • Actively greet, interact, and assist Resort staff in a professional manner to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment.
  • Perform shop and on‑floor repairs of slot machines.
  • Repair and rebuild all mechanical and electronic slot game components.
  • Ensure proper slot operation and maintenance on the casino floor.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Proactively resolve any guest issue that arises, including the coordination of departmental assistance when necessary.
  • Setup and strike of slot tournament.
  • Coordinate with different departments when executing projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment on the floor, shop and storage areas.
  • Sustain daily communications with co‑workers and management.
  • Notify the Supervisor/Manager of any suspicious or unusual activity and/or transactions in a timely and responsible manner.
  • Maintain general Property knowledge.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience Required
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills
  • Strong problem‑solving and listening skills
  • Self‑motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience as a Slot Technician
  • At least 2 years of previous electronic board repair experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
Preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar resort or setting
  • Experience working with the Aristocrat system
  • Degree in Electronics

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds at a time.

  • Ability to work in an environment where pipe, cigar, and cigarette smoking is permitted.
  • Ability to multitask several activities and duties simultaneously.
  • Ability to function and act independently.
  • Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral.
  • Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
