Summary Statement

The primary responsibility of the Surveillance Specialist is to protect guests, team members, and assets of the property utilizing surveillance equipment and various software. The role also involves investigating and documenting all casino and designated property area activities, and performing all duties in accordance with departmental and Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

Job Duties
  • Monitor Table Games, Slots, Cages, Soft Count and Race and Sports Book.
  • Report repairs of surveillance equipment to the department technicians via email or iTrak system; if the system goes down, a verbal request is sent to technicians.
  • Operate surveillance video equipment to ensure accurate documentation of irregularities or deviations; write factual reports about abnormal activity and ensure compliance with the surveillance system.
  • Make detailed written or follow‑up reports on incidents that occur on property.
  • Work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies while conducting investigations.
  • Utilize AI and other software programs to investigate and analyze data and alerts.
  • Evaluate table game play of high‑end luxury property guests.
  • Conduct observations and investigations on suspicious activity on the casino floor.
  • Identify cheating activities, undesirable behaviors, pilferage, and embezzlement in the casino areas.
  • Assist security in protecting the welfare of casino and hotel team members and guests.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement in the investigation of criminal activity that occurred on company property.
  • Pass surveillance examinations that reflect current job knowledge as outlined in current procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of state gaming regulations, statutes, departmental policies, and procedures.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of all casino games, including payoffs, odds, rules, procedures, cheating methods, and card‑counting techniques.
  • Obtain and maintain position‑specific licensing.
  • Distinguish letters, numbers, colors, and symbols.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job‑related operational tasks and document review.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred
  • At least two years in a surveillance department and knowledge of all table games in a high‑end luxury resort.
  • Knowledge of gaming minimum internal casino standards, local jurisdictional gaming laws, and Nevada Revised Statutes.
  • Proficient in detecting advantage play (card counters, top card, and hole card).
  • Ability to make decisions based on existing evidence and protect the assets of Resorts World Las Vegas.
  • Understanding of all computer‑based programs used by surveillance, iTrak, BJ Survey, Bravo Sessions or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
Minimum Education And Experience
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • At least two years of casino experience in table games, slots, soft count rooms, cashiers, related areas, or equivalent video monitoring and investigation experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain the following:
    • Nevada Gaming Registration.
Physical Demands
  • Work is typically performed around property or in an office environment.
  • Must tolerate varying noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Bending and reaching.
  • Transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and maneuvering items weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to comply with policies and procedures, job description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS), and other instructions.
