Position SummaryThe Associate Structural Engineer will oversee structural projects under the guidance of a Principal, taking projects from initial feasibility and concept development through final construction and closeout.
Key Responsibilities- Develop structural concepts, perform feasibility analyses, and establish the basis of design
- Execute structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, foundations, and lateral systems
- Lead preparation of design development packages, construction documents, and construction administration activities
- Coordinate closely with architects, consultants, BIM teams, and contractors
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, evaluate substitutions, and provide field support
- Mentor junior engineers and uphold internal quality control standards
- Assist with proposals, fee development, and business development initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not a must have;
Structural Engineer (SE) license a plus - Minimum of 3 years of structural building design experience
- Demonstrated experience leading moderate to large-scale projects
- Strong background in high-rise and seismic design preferred
- Proficiency with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC codes and standards
- Experience with ETABS, SAP, STRUDL, STAAD, SAFE/RAM, RISA, ADAPT, and SP Column/Beam
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office
Ideal candidates will be able to independently design complete structural systems, address code-related challenges, enhance constructability, and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
