We are seeking a CAD Designer with strong
Solid Works capability and practical manufacturing experience. This role focuses on production-ready design—sheet metal, weldments, structural assemblies, and fabrication documentation.
You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing to ensure designs are buildable, efficient, and released with clarity and precision.
Responsibilities- Develop accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Creo, Revit, Micro Station, Autodesk Inventor, or Pro/ENGINEER. Design sheet metal and weldment structures for fabrication
- Produce complete manufacturing release packages (drawings, BOMs, cut lists)
- Apply DFM (Design for Manufacture) principles to reduce rework and increase throughput
- Participate in design reviews and implement revisions efficiently
- Maintain revision control and drawing standards
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet schedule and quality targets
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD,
Solid Works
, Creo, Revit, Micro Station, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER. - Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical design, drafting, system design, and assembly processes.
- Demonstrated experience with sheet metal and Weldments
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to independently convert concepts into production-ready
· Experience with other parametric CAD systems (Inventor, Creo, CATIA, Onshape)- Experience with non-parametric / polygonal modeling software (3ds Max, Blender, Maya, ZBrush)
- Experience with CNC processes (laser, router, press brake)
- Familiarity with PDM / revision control systems
- Experience with 3D printing (FDM, SLA, or similar) for prototyping or production support
- Practical fabrication or welding experience (advantageous but not required)
- Degree or formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or similar
- Solid Works Certification (CSWA, CSWP, CSWE)
- CAM software certification or documented CAM experience
Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
