Job Overview
RF Engineer II is responsible for moderately complex RF engineering activities supporting the design, development and optimization of a wireless network. The role includes radio propagation modeling and prediction to determine cell site location, equipment and power configuration, forecasting channel capacity, planning and optimizing system traffic, and developing design standards to ensure system quality. The engineer may provide training assistance to lower level engineers, conduct moderately complex network system administration and design engineering activities, and perform engineering functions related to interconnect equipment, signaling systems, switches and traffic.
It requires independent professional engineering assignments involving planning, evaluation, and significant adaptation of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- RFDS creation – familiarity with antennas, RF wiring/plumbing diagrams, connectors, cables/jumpers, equipment, etc.
- Tools experience:
Capstan, Siterra, Sprint Vision. - CIQ creation & procurement – understanding of RF parameters: PCI, PN, frequency planning.
- Tools requirement:
Atoll, Appian, Map Info, Alteryx, ACP, Excel, PowerPoint, databasing or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-4 years related work experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in team settings.
