Position Summary

As an ENGEO Staff Engineer you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of project scopes, types, and technical challenges. You will be mentored and supported to take on responsibility quickly and encouraged to build technical expertise, project management, and business development soft skills.

• Develop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and technical specifications for design and construction of private and public projects.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and design of shallow and deep foundation systems, ground improvement systems, earth‑retaining structures, slopes, landslide mitigation solutions, and more.
• Assess static and dynamic slope stability, ground settlement and deformation, and soil liquefaction using various geotechnical software applications.
• Perform static and dynamic numerical modeling using finite‑element and finite‑difference methods as implemented in PLAXIS, FLAC, and other software applications.
• Perform site‑specific seismic‑hazard and ground‑response analyses.
• Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and observing and assisting with cone penetration and geophysical testing.
• Develop laboratory testing plans, review laboratory test results, and develop representative soil properties for geotechnical analyses and design.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, letters, plans, and other documents.
• Observe construction of foundations, ground improvement, shoring, grading operations, and other geotechnical construction.
• Complete other field, analytical, and project administrative tasks with direction and support from peers and leadership.
• Learn increasingly more complex, non‑routine tasks with review and oversight from senior staff.
• Support Global Projects:
  Collaborate on and potentially travel to project sites across our international footprint, including Guam, New Zealand, and Australia to provide on‑site engineering support and field investigations.

• 1–3 years professional/relevant internship/field experience
• E.I.T
• Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics
• A team player who enjoys problem‑solving and fast‑paced environments

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree – Required (M.S. degree or Ph.D. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering – Preferred)
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products. Numerical modeling, seismic hazard analysis, and GIS experience are a plus.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and diverse environment
• Ability to work and succeed as a team also while being resourceful when working alone in the field.
• Construction appropriate vehicle for driving onto job sites
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for short‑term or extended project assignments.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $75,000–$90,000. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, education, skillset, and market conditions.
