Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Live, Virtual, Constructive Engineer for the USAFWC Exercise support team at Nellis AFB, NV. Candidate will be responsible for work in a multitasking, quick-paced, dynamic environment supporting USAF Warfare Center Large Force Exercises, Operational Test, and Tactics Development. Candidate will support planning and execution of Chairman, Joint Chief of Staff (CJCS), Combatant Command (COCOM), and Major Command (MAJCOM)-level exercises and events.

In this role, you will integrate diverse simulation platforms, ensuring seamless interoperability across various systems. You'll support end-users by training personnel to effectively utilize the LVC systems, and you'll liaise with stakeholders to translate their needs into precise technical specifications.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll design, implement, and maintain simulations that align with our clients' training goals. Candidate Tasks May Include- Simulation creation:
Employ various simulation systems to ensure seamless functionality and interoperability to create realistic training scenarios using live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) environments. - Integrate New solutions:
As mission requirements evolve, incorporate new simulation software and environments into the existing ecosystem, ensuring compatibility and enhancing overall system capabilities. - Data Visualization:
Create comprehensive data visualizations to represent simulation outcomes and model predictions clearly and effectively. - Planning:
Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Planning Conferences, and training cadre to develop LVC scenarios based on exercise requirements. - Mission Translation:
Communicate with multi-domain teams to understand their requirements and translate them into high-fidelity simulations that blend seamlessly with live data. - Process Improvement:
Continually assess and improve modeling and simulation processes to increase efficiency and accuracy, incorporating new methods or technologies as appropriate.
- 8+ Years experience in Air Operations and/or Exercise planning, with an emphasis on multi-domain mission execution & management
- Bachelor Science in computer or systems engineering, software development, or related discipline (In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience)
- Experience with multi-domain scenario development, friendly (US and Coalition) and enemy Order of Battle, and ingestion/digitization of scenarios into simulation systems.
- Knowledge of industry and DoD LVC environments, including key enablers for networked, and distributed training
- Experience with High Level Architecture (HLA) and/or Distributed Interactive Simulations Protocol Data Unit (DIS PDU) protocols and functionality
- Experience in programming languages such as C++, C#, and/or Python.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work, and the ability to flex to rapidly changing information and requirements
- Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
Bachelor of Science required. Master’s degree desired. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Travel RequirementsRoutine travel is expected. Candidates should anticipate one week per month. Non-traditional work hours may be required. Expectation is that work will be performed onsite.
Clearance RequirementsCurrent Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain access to Special Access Required (SAR) Programs and Special Technical Operations (STO) required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
