Overview

The Exploration Geologist is responsible for planning, executing, and interpreting geological exploration programs to discover and delineate mineral resources. The role involves field mapping, sampling, drill program execution, data interpretation and management, and reporting to support exploration and resource development objectives. The project is currently undergoing exploration drilling and ramping up to be in production in 2027. Ideal candidate will be based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Competitive salary will be provided to successful candidate. We are a small team currently, and therefore interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team are paramount.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Geological Exploration & Fieldwork
  • Conduct and supervise geological mapping, sampling, and reconnaissance programs
  • Log RC, diamond, air core, or reverse circulation drill holes accurately and consistently
  • Collect, manage, and QA/QC geological and assay data
  • Identify and interpret geological structures, lithologies, alteration, and mineralization
  • Support target generation and prioritization for drilling programs
Drill Program Management
  • Assist in planning and executing drilling programs (RC, DD, AC)
  • Supervise drill contractors and field crews
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and heritage requirements
  • Monitor drilling progress, recoveries, and costs
  • Coordinate sample dispatch and assay turnaround
Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets
  • Update geological models, cross-sections, and maps
  • Contribute to resource definition and exploration strategy
  • Maintain accurate geological databases (e.g., Leapfrog, MX Deposit, Imago, etc.)
Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare technical reports, drill logs, and exploration summaries
  • Contribute to internal management reports and external regulatory disclosures (e.g., JORC-related inputs)
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior geology and management teams
  • Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC)
  • Comply with company HSEC policies and procedures
  • Actively promote a strong safety culture in the field
  • Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses
  • Ensure environmental and heritage compliance during exploration activities
  • Lead safety interactions with drilling and other contractors
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences
  • 1-5+ years' experience in mineral exploration (level dependent on role seniority) (preference given to gold and/or REE exploration experience)
  • Strong field geology and drill logging experience (preference to gold and gold breccia systems)
  • Understanding of exploration techniques and mineral systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work in remote locations and on rostered schedule
Desirable
  • Experience with specific commodities (e.g., gold, REE, other)
  • Exposure to JORC Code reporting requirements
  • Experience with 3D geological modelling software
  • First Aid and field safety certifications
  • US Residents preferred
