Fire Protection Engineer

ACS Group is a Fire Protection Engineering and Life Safety Code Consulting firm with offices located in Austin (TX), Dallas-Fort Worth (TX), Boston (MA), Las Vegas (NV), Reno (NV), and Salt Lake City (UT).

We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Protection Engineer/Senior Fire Protection Engineer located or willing to relocate to the Las Vegas, NV area to join the ACS team.

This role is part of ACS Group’s strategic expansion of its Las Vegas operations, supporting complex industrial, advanced manufacturing, and large-scale hospitality projects throughout Nevada and the Southwest. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping technical standards, mentoring junior staff, and supporting the long-term growth of the Las Vegas office.

Fire Protection Engineer (Mid to Senior level) – Las Vegas, NV

The successful candidate will provide clients with exceptional fire protection engineering and life safety code consulting services. Anticipated roles and responsibilities for this position include:

• Collaborate with other senior ACS Group staff with more extensive technical project-related tasks such as dust hazard analyses (DHAs), hazard mitigation analyses (HMAs), and performance-based design.
• Effectively communicate with project design team members, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Lead the preparation of Fire Protection Reports, code analysis, and AHJ responses.
• Assess high-piled storage arrangements and develop associated reports for high-piled storage permits.
• Develop and oversee the design basis for fire suppression, detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
• Conduct architectural drawing reviews to identify critical egress issues, along with the preparation of master egress drawings for various projects.
• Develop criteria and/or review design drawings and specifications of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems for project bidding.
• Classify and quantify hazardous materials in accordance with the International Fire Code based on information provided by the client. Produce chemical hazardous analysis report based on findings.

• Willing to relocate or must reside in the Las Vegas, Nevada metropolitan area.
• Must have Professional Engineer (P.E.) in any state with the ability to secure a Nevada P.E. within six months.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical and/or Civil engineering.
• Strong technical background.
• 4+ years of professional experience.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience using Blue Beam, AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Attendance and participation in local professional organizations.
• Ability to work well independently and to interact with other industry professionals, associated trades, and jurisdictional authorities.
• Defined advancement path into Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Project Manager, and management roles, with increasing responsibility for staff oversight, project execution, and office operations.
• Early exposure to AHJ coordination, client management, and proposal development, building the skills required for long-term technical and business leadership.
