Water Resources Lead

Horrocks seeks a Lead Professional Engineer for Water Resources to manage large, multi‑discipline projects in Las Vegas, NV.

Compensation

$140,000 - $170,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a project team of engineers, designers, and field personnel in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of water systems.
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with office management and other project managers to share resources.
  • Assist in proposal preparation, including oral presentations; prepare scope, schedule, and budget for new projects.
  • Interface with clients, including state and local agencies.
  • Create and troubleshoot challenging engineering and construction issues.
  • Prepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, or cost estimates.
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub‑consultants and clients.
  • Ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate design activities to assure installation and operations meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
  • Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Perform independent reviews of others’ work, including calculations and drawings.
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • 8+ years of experience in facilities engineering, design, or construction.
  • Ability to manage engineering, design, or construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2D modeling, and related software.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients and multi‑discipline teams.
  • Willingness to work on local projects or in collaboration with other offices.
  • Proven track record of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
