Next OpportunityThe BIM Modeler III leads the production team, managing all functions of a BIM project—including drawings, model quality, and coordination files. Responsibilities include supervising modeling and documentation, providing guidance to staff, and ensuring project models meet REI standards.
What You’ll Do- Perform all tasks of a BIM Modeler II
- Collaborate with the Family Development Team on revised standards or project-specific needs
- Lead and supervise modeling and documentation of projects
- Provide clear verbal and written direction to support staff
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including resource needs, progress, and potential impacts on scope, schedule, and budget
- Create and maintain Electrical Revit models using backgrounds from other trades, following all REI standards
- Work with a diverse, cross‑departmental team
- Supervise layout and input of marked‑up drawings into Revit per REI standards
- Protect proprietary and confidential information in accordance with company policy
- Perform additional duties as required by the business unit
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computerized Drafting, Architectural Design, or related discipline with a minimum of 1 year in Revit
- Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical symbols, drafting conventions, and standards
- A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered
- Effective performance management skills
- Advanced knowledge of Revit (families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters)
- Ability to give clear verbal and written direction that translates into constructive design documents
- Complete understanding of REI BIM processes, procedures, and standards
- Fluency in reading 2‑D plans, including one‑lines, lighting schedules, panel schedules, and feeder schedules
- Proofreading, spell checking, and quality assurance of work
- Understanding of Revit work‑sharing processes and methodology
- Experience setting up Revit models, leading model teams, and meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Prioritization and multitasking abilities under changing priorities
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self‑motivation, proactive attitude, and strong teamwork
- Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients
- General work environment: sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
- Noise level typically low to medium; may be louder on a job site
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs
