Overview
The University Of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the Director of the Wiener-Rogers Law Library and Associate Professor or Professor of Law. This is a full-time faculty appointment, tenure or tenure-track depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall administration of the law library, including budgeting, personnel management, and policy development.
• Oversee collection development and management of print and electronic resources to meet curricular, scholarly, and space needs.
• Ensure compliance with ABA and AALS accreditation standards.
• Support faculty scholarship through the Faculty Liaison Program pairing law library and law faculty on research projects.
• Foster innovation by leveraging emerging technologies and best practices in legal information services.
• Maximize physical space design and usage to promote student learning and community among students.
• Engage in faculty governance, scholarly research, and professional service.
• Oversee library hiring, supervision, evaluation of library faculty and staff, and allocation of responsibilities among staff.
• Represent the law library within the law school, the university, local and national legal communities.

Qualifications

• A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S./M.L.S.) from an ALA-accredited program.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in an academic or law library with management and supervisory roles; experience mentoring diverse professionals.
• Demonstrated expertise in legal research, library administration, and emerging technologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to principles of job equity and ethics according to AALL.

About The Law School And Library

Boyd Law is a public law school and Nevada’s sole law school. The Wiener-Rogers Law Library is the largest law library in Nevada and supports faculty, students, practitioners, government agencies, and the public. The law school offers day and part-time J.D. programs and an LL.M. in Gaming Law and Regulation.

Minimum Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S./M.L.S.) from an ALA-accredited program (as recognized by USDE/CHEA).
• Experience mentoring diverse law library professionals and at least five years in an academic or law library with management roles.
• Credentials must be obtained prior to start date.

Faculty rank will be dependent upon education and experience.
Associate Professor (Tenure-Track) requires potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service;
Professor (Tenured) requires an established record of teaching, scholarship, and service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scholarly activity and professional service.
• Experience with strategic planning and accreditation processes.
• Familiarity with legal research tools and data analytics.
