Overview
The Paramedic Clinical Director is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and instruction of the clinical education component of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. This role serves as the primary liaison between the institution and clinical partners, ensuring that student training meets all national, state, and programmatic standards.
Role Responsibilities- Clinical Site Management:
Secure new clinical sites and maintain contractual agreements with hospitals and EMS agencies. Coordinate student scheduling within these departments. - Student Success & Retention:
Monitor student success rates and implement proactive plans to reduce withdrawals. Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes. - Field Supervision & Evaluation:
Conduct on-site visits to evaluate student clinical performance. Coordinate with site instructors to ensure educational effectiveness. - Curriculum Development:
Coordinate the clinical and didactic education plans. Develop and revise clinical objectives, lesson plans, and student evaluations. - Academic Instruction:
Perform the duties of an EMS instructor, teaching students specialized methods and techniques in the classroom and skills lab. - Compliance & Records:
Prepare final grades and maintain meticulous records of student competency and clinical hours in accordance with institutional policy. - Onboarding:
Conduct orientations for students at each clinical education site to ensure readiness for field rotations.
- Minimum Degree:
Bachelor’s degree from a USDE-recognized accredited institution OR current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program. - Professional
Education:
Graduation from a Paramedic program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.- Exception: A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for those who did not graduate from an accredited program.
- Occupational
Experience:
At least three (3) years of occupational experience in the Paramedic/EMS field. - Credentials:
Must be certified by a nationally recognized organization (NREMT-P) at an equal or higher level than the training being offered. - Must hold current licenses or certifications as required by local, state, or federal laws.
- Teaching
Competency:
Proven ability to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation. Knowledgeable in course content and effective in teaching assigned subjects. - Nevada Specifics:
Must obtain a letter of endorsement from the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) prior to any teaching.

On-Site - Salary Range: $70,935 – $88,670 annually
