The University Of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for the Graduate Admission Counselor, UNLV Enrollment Management, Graduate Recruitment (R0150298). The role maintains high levels of internal and external public contact, serving as a liaison between the Office of Admissions, academic units, and other university organizations. The Graduate Admission Counselor is responsible for outreach to prospective graduate students, including presentations, workshops, recruitment events, campus visits, and advising on the graduate application and admission process.
The position may require travel, irregular hours, and weekend work.
- Conduct admission presentations and set up workshops for prospective students and families on navigating the graduate application and admission process.
- Participate in recruitment events to provide admission assistance and guidance; bring prospective students and their families to campus.
- Make calls to prospects and inquiries for admission counseling; proactively communicate with admitted students to encourage matriculation.
- Make preliminary determinations regarding eligibility for admissions based on transcripts, NSHE policies, and official documents; advise on educational goals and admission requirements.
- Plan and manage recruitment activities in assigned regions and implement a marketing plan to attract target populations.
- Stay informed of changes in target populations, identify barriers to recruitment/admission, and take independent initiative to address barriers; escalate to the Assistant Director as needed.
- Provide leadership for special initiatives as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Recruitment.
- Travel locally and out-of-state and work irregular hours and weekends as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the US Department of Education and/or CHEA.
- 1 – 3 years of related professional experience.
- Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
UNLV may consider additional relevant experience in place of formal education requirements:
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, four additional years of relevant experience; or
- An associate's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle with valid auto insurance.
