The Movement Dance Experience is expanding. We’re hiring a Dynamic, Skilled, and Reliable Music Educator to lead group classes and provide private instruction as part of a new Music Program that complements our arts and dance community.

Position Requirements & Schedule
- Consistent availability during:
Monday–Thursday 3:00 PM–8:00 PM;
Thursday 9:00 AM–12:00 PM;
Friday 9:00 AM–12:00 PM;
Saturday 9:00 AM–2:00 PM - Applicants must be able to commit to these hours. Music classes and private lessons will be scheduled within this window.
- Teachers will not be scheduled for every hour listed; schedules are assigned based on program needs and may change seasonally.
- Open, consistent availability during listed hours is required. Recurring conflicts during these times are not a fit for this position.
What We’re Looking For
- Versatile & Confident Music Educators — teach music theory in engaging, age-appropriate group classes; confident private instrument instruction (piano required; guitar preferred; drums, violin, ukulele, and other instruments are a bonus); comfortable with vocal instruction if qualified; passion for building musical foundations and sparking creativity; flexible to studio needs.
- Reliable, Professional, & Organized Leaders — punctual, fully prepared for every class; strong classroom management for groups of 1–15; maintain professionalism and positive energy; follow studio curriculum and standards; take responsibility for engaging lessons and student progress.
- Growth-Oriented Mentors — nurture developing musicians, track progress, help students set goals; openness to expanding the program (e.g., choir or multi-instrument workshops); leadership opportunities as the program grows; participation in performances and studio events.
What You’ll Be Doing
Group Music Theory Instruction- Prepare and lead engaging, structured music theory classes for ages 3–5, 6–8, 9–12, and teens as needed.
- Teach rhythmic understanding, notation, musicality, listening skills, and foundational musicianship.
- Use creative methods to make theory accessible and fun.
- Provide one‑to‑one lessons for beginner-level musicians in piano, guitar, or other instruments you teach.
- Support technique, confidence, practice habits, and overall growth; prepare students for progress evaluations and seasonal performances.
- Teach beginner vocal technique, breathing, pitch, tone, confidence, and performance skills.
- Potential to lead group vocal classes or a children’s choir as the program expands.
- Build supportive relationships with students and families; communicate scheduling, progress, and events; welcome trial students and create positive experiences.
- Collaborate with leadership and fellow educators to build a cohesive arts environment; help shape curriculum, class structure, and student pathways; assist with studio events, shows, and marketing content; maintain a clean, organized music space.
Base Pay: $20/hour
Estimated Hours Per Week: 4–10
Performance-Based Bonuses:
Compensation can increase based on enrollment, retention, and program success.
Professional Growth:
Leadership roles and additional teaching hours available based on performance and commitment.
