Position Status

This position is open until filled.

Position Summary
  • The selected individual is required to teach in person, on multiple days, at our main campuses, learning or satellite centers during morning, afternoon, and evening hours.
  • Develop course syllabi and materials.
  • Evaluate mastery of student, program, and institutional learning outcomes; participate in developing formative and summative assessments and instruments.
  • Maintain office hours for student advisement, recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.
  • Participate in School, Department, and Program meetings and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by Chair to meet office, division, and institutional needs.
Required Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Administration of Justice from an accredited college/university.
  • Five (5) years of full-time practitioner experience in the criminal justice profession.
  • Practitioner experience within the last eight (8) years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years’ full-time teaching experience at the college level in the criminal justice discipline.
  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment plans, formative and summative assessments, and analysis of course and program assessment.
  • Practitioner experience within the last five (5) years.

Candidates will be required to do a teaching demonstration.

Bargaining unit Faculty members hired are eligible for relocation expenses reimbursement in accordance with the CSN NFA Contract .

Starting Salary Information

Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, with a Master’s degree, the salary range is $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range can be up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years of experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement.
