Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field from an accredited college/university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 3 years of full-time working experience in accounting, including reconciling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
* One or more years of working knowledge of fund accounting in higher education.
* Demonstrated experience in research and application of the knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the standards of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements or IRS codes.
* One year of full-time work experience with Workday Finance, People Soft, or other RFP systems.
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS.
* Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel.
* Working Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the standards of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
* General knowledge of relevant NSHE Board of Regents policies and procedures.
* Working knowledge of the Student Financial module of People Soft Campus Solutions application.
* Working knowledge of College's financial system.
* Ability to research, interpret, and apply internal revenue codes and IRS guidelines.
* Ability to work with a diverse and multicultural workforce.
* Ability to develop People Soft queries to collect, analyze, and report data.
* Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under strict time constraints.
* Ability to reconcile and research data using Microsoft Excel.
* Ability to perform essential job functions effectively in a virtual work environment.
