Altitude Color Technologies is seeking an experienced Sewing Manager to lead our first-shift sewing department. This role is responsible for managing all fabric sewing operations, with a primary focus on SEG (Silicone Edge Graphic) frames, fabric graphics, and banner sewing. The Sewing Manager will oversee personnel, workflow, quality control, and on-time delivery while maintaining high production standards in a fast-paced large-format print environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both advanced sewing expertise and proven people-management experience.
Key Responsibilities- Sewing & Production Operations
- Manage Daily Sewing Operations For SEG fabric graphics
- SEG frame systems
- Fabric displays and soft signage
- Banner sewing, hemming, pole pockets, and finishing
- Ensure all sewn products meet Altitude Color Technologies’ quality, sizing, and finishing standards
- Interpret production work orders, sewing specs, and client requirements accurately
- Collaborate with Pre-Press, Print, and Finishing departments to ensure seamless workflow
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, train, and supervise sewing staff on first shift
- Assign workloads, set priorities, and balance capacity to meet production deadlines
- Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and best practices
- Conduct performance feedback, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and skills development of sewing team members
- Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Inspect finished goods for accuracy, durability, and appearance before release
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend workflow or process improvements
- Reduce reprints, re-sews, and material waste through strong oversight
- Maintain consistent stitch quality, tension, and SEG fit across all projects
- Equipment, Materials & Inventory
- Oversee sewing equipment setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
- Monitor thread, silicone beading, fabric, and sewing supply inventory
- Coordinate with management to request supplies, repairs, or equipment upgrades
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional sewing experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Direct Experience Sewing SEG (Silicone Edge Graphics) Is Required
- Strong background in banner sewing, hems, pole pockets, and fabric finishing
- Proven management or lead experience, supervising teams in a production setting
- Ability to read work orders, measurements, and technical sewing specifications
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment
- Experience in large-format printing, trade show graphics, or event graphics
- Familiarity with soft signage systems and SEG frame tolerances
- Experience working cross-functionally with print, pre-press, and finishing teams
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move fabric rolls, finished graphics, and materials (up to 50 lbs)
- Manual dexterity required for sewing, measuring, and quality inspection
