California Pools is seeking an experienced and driven Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee the execution of commercial aquatic venue projects across the country. Key Responsibilities- Oversee on‑site construction for commercial pool projects nationwide
- Manage extended project assignments lasting 6 months to 1 year per location
- Lead and manage subcontractor crews with professionalism and clarity
- Read, interpret, and execute construction plans and technical drawings
- Preplan project activities, materials, and timelines to avoid delays
- Create and manage project schedules, adjusting timelines as needed
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality and OSHA safety compliance
- Identify, interview, and onboard reliable subcontractors aligned with company standards
- Maintain organized documentation, daily reports, and progress updates
- Serve as the primary on‑site contact for clients and general contractors
- Step in with hands‑on support when needed to move the project forward
- Represent California Pools' values and brand at every jobsite
- 3-5 years of experience in construction management or superintendent roles
- Must be willing and able to commit to 6-month to 1-year travel assignments with limited home visits (approximately every 6 weeks)
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Proven leadership in managing multiple subcontractor teams across complex projects
- Deep understanding of OSHA safety protocols and jobsite best practices
- Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to fast-changing field conditions
- Experienced in building and managing detailed project schedules
- Comfortable living away from home for extended periods and managing remote lifestyle
- Valid driver's license required
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
- Previous experience with traveling construction roles
- Experience in commercial pool or aquatic construction
