The Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix has rapidly become a world-class event in its first three years. This three-day spectacle attracts a global audience to witness the world's greatest drivers and cars navigate the iconic Las Vegas Strip at breathtaking speeds approaching 200 mph.

SUMMARY:

As a Director, Commercial Operations, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the creation and execution of the strategy for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, driving revenue growth and maximizing commercial opportunities that directly drive the revenue and commercial value of Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. and Formula 1.

Reporting to the SVP, Commercial Operations, the successful candidate will collaborate to create compelling propositions for commercial partners and expanding Formula 1's footprint in Vegas and the US market as a key growth driver for the business. Working closely with the Commercial Partnerships, Ticketing, Licensing, and Marketing team, as well as the Formula 1 Commercial Operations team in in London, the role will ensure both the Las Vegas Grand Prix' and Formula 1's commercial objectives are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Strategy & Sustainable Commercial Growth
  • Support development and successful execution of event & business strategy
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive growth across commercial partnerships, ticketing, hospitality, licensing, and Grand Prix Plaza - F1's permanent activation in Vegas
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and maximise commercial potential
  • Conduct financial modelling, revenue forecasting, and performance analysis to support commercial planning and optimize monetization strategies; develop and present business cases, strategic recommendations, and performance reports to senior management and other key stakeholders
  • Own and spearhead special projects that require full attention; serve as a subject matter expert, and develop action plans to execute such projects
  • Monitor the effectiveness of commercial initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and adapting strategies to changing market conditions and consumer behavior
Support on Deal & Sales Operations
  • Assist the development team to conceptualize bespoke, industry-acclaimed, multi-year partnerships that highlight both the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Formula 1 and its partners in new ways. These partnerships will not only drive revenue, but also activation, engagement, recognition, and conversion
Internal Support
  • Manage reporting processes for senior stakeholder updates
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create integrated commercial propositions that enhance fan engagement and partner value
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure Formula 1 remains at the forefront of innovation and commercial success
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, commercial strategy, business development, or related roles, preferably within the sports, entertainment, media, or tech
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Excellent Power Point and Excel skills are an absolute must
  • Can-do attitude, willingness to go the extra mile, and focus on execution
  • Attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of Sports and Formula 1 landscape with proven knowledge around the business model of sports and entertainment business
