JOB SUMMARY
The Category Manager will manage commodity or category national contract agreements, manage supplier performance, and assist in selecting new sources and suppliers. The role will also direct the development and negotiation of complex agreements.
HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
- Lead the development, implementation, and alignment of sourcing strategies for key commodities and spend categories within the hotel and casino industry. Candidates require substantial recent, proven experience in a procurement function involved in high risk, high value, services and supplies covering a range of commodities.
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships and gain a comprehensive understanding of commodities business requirements
- Interface and advise with senior executives to align business priorities and manage issues
- Maintain and provide a current understanding of industry best practices and commodity trends to Team Members and business partners
- Measure and manage the overall performance of the sourced supplier network within the commodities industry.
- Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and work collaboratively with Team Members to prioritize and drive implementation
- Collaborate with Stakeholders to establish short-term and long-term business objectives
- Develop project plans, deliverables, metrics and milestones
- Implement process disciplines and management systems necessary to achieve desired results
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new suppliers and markets as business requirements dictate
- Direct the development and negotiation of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives
- Manage governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets, and comply with corporate and regulatory policies
- Ensure organizational financial goals are met, including budget and savings
- Develop both internal and external partnerships critical to meeting objectives
- Report annual cost savings programs and implement business strategies that directly affect company financial results and growth plans
- Advise on supplier network capabilities and commodity/spend category trends and industry best practices
- Effectively manage several projects
- Can be based out of Las Vegas, NV or remote (within eligible, company approved jurisdictions).
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive business and sourcing experience in Contract Labor and other Professional Services categories.
- Bachelor’s or similar degree in hotel management, business, operations management or related science field required, MBA preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years in progressively challenging roles in sourcing/negotiations/supplier management.
- 3+ years relevant experience with Contract Labor, and other Professional Services categories.
- Experienced in negotiating simple and complex commodity programs with a detailed understanding of operations, finance, and the evaluation of terms, pricing minimum order requirements, and service level standards
