Senior Purchasing Buyer

PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

Responsible for the sourcing of all goods and services in the hospitality/gaming industry; thereby ensuring timely delivery of products which meet the quality standards at a cost-effective price. This role requires strong analytical skills, negotiation expertise and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain strong supplier/vendor relationships.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery.
  • Align purchasing strategies with departmental needs as well as overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand, monitor inventory levels, and ensure continuity of supply while minimizing excess stock.
  • Proactively identify and resolve supply chain risks, delivery issues, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy by analyzing historical data to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Continual review of the entire procurement cycle from requisition to purchase order issuance and delivery; thereby ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and present recommendations to streamline business processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in purchasing, preferably within the gaming/hospitality industry.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills along with excellent organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in computerized accounting systems such as Stratton Warren, Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, departmental managers, and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
  • Gaming License Required.
