Administrative Assistant III – Department of Sociology (R0150723)
Location & ScheduleUniversity of Nevada, Las Vegas – On‑campus, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (no remote work).
SalaryGrade 27 Step 1: $46,207.44 per year.
Responsibilities- Front‑office receptionist and primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and the public.
- Complete semester scheduling in MyUNLV and submit course evaluations each semester.
- Attend all COLA AA and Department of Sociology meetings and other required trainings.
- Obtain and maintain a Pcard for department purchases.
- Assist with special projects, graduate student support, and coordination with the Graduate Coordinator.
- Monitor budget accounts and maintain department equipment inventories (keys, printers, computers, etc.).
- Prepare monthly photocopying audit reports and maintain databases of syllabi and course rotations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Maintenance of complex records and files
• Public/customer relations, including explanation of detailed policies, regulations, and requirements
• Preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents (payroll, travel, claims, budgeting forms)
• Assisting staff and management with projects and activities - OR one year as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Workday, MyUNLV.
- Proficiency with PC and Mac computers, HP printers, scanners, eFax, Xerox, ten‑key calculator, Cisco telephone system, 888P+ Scantron machine.
- Indication of proficiency level for each application or equipment listed.
