Overview
Accounting Assistant III, Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement [R0150456] — University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
Roles and responsibilities focus on accounts payable processing, daily cash receipt reconciliation, and support functions within the UNLV Foundation and the Alumni Association.
Responsibilities- Process accounts payable for the UNLV Foundation and the Alumni Association, including Disbursement Requests, Monetary Transfer Forms (MTFs), electronic invoice payments, and vendor maintenance.
- Prepare and file IRS Forms 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, and 1096; review and process UNLV credit card activity as applicable.
- Manage daily cash receipt reconciliation by reviewing and recording deposits, credit card payments, electronic payments, and other income; verify supporting documentation and enter transactions into the cash receipts module.
- Generate reports for general ledger posting and coordinate with accounting staff and internal units to reconcile other payables and facilitate fund transfers for outstanding balances.
- Maintain and update financial forms and documentation; reconcile postage permit transactions; track authorized signers; manage filing and archiving of contracts; reconcile contract payments.
- Support audits by preparing requested documentation; assist with charitable gift annuity disbursements and required tax reporting; handle departmental mail and support daily deposit and petty cash functions.
- Complete special projects such as reports, confirmations, and financial applications as assigned.
- Minimum qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible clerical accounting experience (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll or other accounting data; spreadsheet work; data reporting; account reconciliation) OR one year of experience as an Accounting Assistant II in Nevada State service with relevant duties OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Demonstrated ability to set up and manage financial data, interpret financial information, and respond to budget and account inquiries.
Salary:
Grade 27, Step 1, $46,207.44. Initial appointments typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade in accordance with NAC 284.170.
