Cash Application Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cash Applications Specialist with 1–2 years of experience in accounts receivable or cash posting. This role is responsible for accurately applying customer payments, researching discrepancies, and supporting the overall AR function to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Post daily customer payments (ACH, wire, check, lockbox, credit card) accurately and timely
• Reconcile cash receipts to bank activity and customer accounts
• Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments
• Process adjustments, short pays, deductions, and write-offs in accordance with company policy
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies
• Maintain detailed records of cash activity and supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end closing tasks related to cash and AR
• Support audit requests and documentation needs
• Identify opportunities to improve cash application processes and efficiencies

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Strong understanding of AR processes and payment reconciliation
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-volume transaction environments
• Familiarity with lockbox processing and customer portals
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
