The Role:Fixed Asset Accountant
As a Fixed Asset Accountant at Switch, you will support fixed asset and general accounting operations. This role exists to ensure capital assets, depreciation, and related accounts are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP and internal controls. You will work closely with the General Accounting team and report to the Fixed Asset Manager. Your work supports accurate financial reporting and audit readiness.
What You’ll DoPrepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts related to fixed assets.
Process depreciation and record adjusting entries in the fixed asset subledger.
Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and lease transactions.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and resolve variances.
Assist with monthly close activities and financial statement preparation.
Support quarterly reviews and annual audit requests.
Maintain fixed asset schedules, including tracking of depreciation and disposals.
Research accounting questions and document conclusions.
Partner with other departments to ensure accurate capitalization and asset tracking.
Perform ad hoc analysis as requested.

What You’ll BringRequired:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
2+ years of accounting experience.
Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.
Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment.
Preferred:
Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle Fusion, or Blackline.
Understanding of lease accounting.
