Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a multinational gaming and hospitality company in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position is part of the corporate accounting team and offers an excellent opportunity for growth. The role will primarily focus on development accounting and requires a proactive individual who enjoys problem-solving and improving processes.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and record journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for areas such as development accounting, corporate expenditures, and debt.

- Ensure all accounting transactions are supported with accurate and organized documentation.

- Conduct research and analysis of financial data to support decision-making processes.

- Collaborate with the team on special projects and additional tasks as needed.

- Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and sales tax filings.

- Maintain and update general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.

- Review and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.

- Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and systems. Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, completed or in progress.

- At least one year of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.

- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and interpret financial data.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
