Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Corporate office for our Construction divisions

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing all invoices received for payment and undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role ensures the company’s financial obligations are met and that books are kept up to date. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to accurately track and record cash flow.

Experience maintaining a database of financial information, solving problems as they arise, staying motivated, meeting deadlines, and representing the company professionally are required.

Responsibilities
  • Process and pay invoices accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a database of financial information and track cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in accounts payable.
  • Reconcile monthly statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support the accounting team and contribute to process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of a multi-entity organization.
  • Ability to accurately allocate to various projects.
  • Basic cash management.
  • Experience with a contractor or developer.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word; experience with a main-frame accounting system is required.
  • Ability to sit and use a computer for long periods.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to follow directions and established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to stay organized and follow up on outstanding items prior to deadlines.
  • Ability to reconcile monthly statements.
  • Positive attitude, professional workmanship and appearance, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Salary

$27/hr DOE
