Job Summary
The Assurance Experienced Senior will coordinate the day-to-day "in‑charge" duties of planning, fieldwork, and "wrap‑up," including preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP and documenting, validating, testing, and assessing various control systems. This position also acts as the client contact for basic questions and may be involved in reviews and agreed‑upon procedure engagements.
Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of control environments, transactional flows, and key cycles to complete audit work and assess internal controls.
- Supervise and review audit staff work, provide feedback, and explain shortcomings.
- Apply GAAP principles to client transactions, ensure accurate disclosures, and communicate understanding to clients.
- Apply SEC regulations and PCAOB guidelines, review SEC filings, and prepare communications for clients and audit committees.
- Apply GAAS, formulate audit plans, exercise skepticism, and recommend improvements to internal controls.
- Use BDO audit manuals and technology tools to execute audits efficiently and with quality.
- Conduct research to support complex accounting issues, document findings, and incorporate conclusions into engagement papers.
- Manage project timing, budgeting, and resource allocation; develop audit engagement plans and monitor budgets.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, provide primary contact for the client, and manage communication regarding audit progress.
- Perform all stages of the audit, including planning, fieldwork, and wrap‑up, and prepare or review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics; or Bachelor’s degree in another field with CPA certification. Master’s degree in Accountancy preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of prior audit experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Eligible to sit for the CPA exams upon starting employment; actively pursuing completion of exams. CPA preferred. - Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with assurance applications and research tools preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, people development, delegation, and executive presence for client interactions.
- Other: Ability to perform full audit cycles, prepare financial statements with disclosures under GAAP, and manage all audit stages.
