We develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency, and NASA.
This position is a temporary‑full‑time role expected to last up to 60 working days. It will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in the Technical Services Department.

Responsibilities Mechanic Welder, Jr.- Apply technical knowledge to solve problems that cannot be solved solely by reference to manufacturer’s manuals.
- Possess basic knowledge of equipment such as bender, shear, metal worker, grinders, hand tools, etc. used for fabrication.
- Have basic knowledge of various alloys and prepare materials for welding.
- Possess technical knowledge and skills in all areas of welding and fabrication, including GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, oxygen‑acetylene and plasma cutting, fitting, and layout.
- Perform basic layout work and tack work for welders.
- Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
- Perform additional related duties as required.

- Possess advanced knowledge of equipment such as bender, shear, metal worker, grinders, hand tools, etc. used for fabrication.
- Have advanced knowledge of alloys and prepare materials for welding.
- Possess technical knowledge and skills in all areas of welding and fabrication, including GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, oxygen‑acetylene and plasma cutting, fitting, and layout.
- Prepare materials, select proper procedures, set up, and operate all types of welding equipment required for the fabrication, modification, installation, and repair of buildings, equipment, site installations, components, vehicles, etc.
- Work well with others and provide quality and timely welding support services in a team environment.
- Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work area.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of applicable welding experience or training.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Valid driver’s license (state).
- Pass a physical examination as determined by the WSTF physical examination requirements for the job classification.
- Meet requirements for certification, if applicable, as specified in the White Sands Training Database (WTDB).
