Senior Director of Cardiovascular Services
Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health®, is seeking a Senior Director to lead strategic and operational excellence in cardiovascular care across both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role focuses on quality metrics, program development, financial stewardship, and fostering collaborative relationships with clinical, medical, and nursing leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan integrating IP and OP cardiovascular services.
- Partner with senior leaders, Medical Group Services, and key stakeholders to identify growth strategies, new procedures, technologies, and market expansion opportunities.
- Collaborate with physician leaders and hospital executives to align clinical and business strategies.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of cardiovascular departments, including cath labs, cath care unit, cardiac surgery, cardiac rehab, Coumadin Clinic, and outpatient clinics.
- Ensure smooth coordination across the continuum of care from consultation to rehabilitation.
- Provide programmatic oversight of cardiovascular surgery, maintained by the Director of Surgical Services.
- Provide programmatic oversight of inpatient cardiovascular units, maintained by inpatient nurse managers and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and quality teams to maintain evidence‑based practices and achieve superior patient outcomes.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for clinical quality, patient outcomes, throughput, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, ACC).
- Develop business cases, manage budgets, including capital planning and resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance, implement cost‑saving measures, and enhance revenue cycle processes.
- Lead directors, managers, and staff across all cardiovascular service areas, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary team communication and engagement.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with facility and clinic leadership to facilitate physician alignment, recruitment, and performance‑improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, life sciences or business; master’s preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ healthcare experience with 5+ years in service‑line operations and development of cardiovascular services.
- Demonstrated success managing both inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular services.
- Proven strategic planning, financial oversight and team‑leadership experience.
- Special interest in candidates with experience in multistate national healthcare systems.
