Description
Strong interaction skills with medical center staff, physicians, and patients. Knowledge of laboratory disciplines and tests, specimen processing, charting, computer experience, filing. Performs venipunctures and other duties as assigned. Provides service to patients across the lifespan including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.
Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
Provides clinical support to patients in the Physician clinic under the supervision of the provider. Provides continuity and coordination of care in the outpatient setting including adolescents as well as adults.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical support to patients in the physician clinic under provider supervision.
- Provide continuity and coordination of care in the outpatient setting for adolescents and adults.
- Perform venipunctures and other duties as assigned.
- Understand laboratory disciplines and tests, specimen processing, charting, and filing.
- Demonstrate strong interaction skills with medical center staff, physicians, and patients.
- Provide service to patients across the lifespan including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
- Minimum Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. - For positions with phlebotomy duties, completion of a formal Phlebotomy course or clinical experience in phlebotomy required. Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program helpful. Medical Terminology course or equivalent preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Minimum Experience:
Clinical laboratory experience preferred. Computer skills a must/medical background helpful. - Minimum Education (Medical Assistant):
High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum Experience (Medical Assistant):
Two (2) years clinical office experience. Medical terminology, computer knowledge required. - Certification/Licensure:
Possess a current MA certification from AMT, AAMA, NCCT or NHCA. - For New hires:
Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. If currently certified, must maintain current certification. CPR certification required.
