Responsibilities- Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider.
- Manage the check-in and registration process, including verifying insurance and processing co-pays.
- Room patients and prepare treatment rooms for examination.
- Interview patients, record medical history, and measure vital signs (e.g., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height).
- Record information on patients' charts and update medical records.
- Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, ECG) and in-house lab tests.
- Draw and collect blood samples, perform phlebotomy, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Administer medication and/or injections as needed.
- Perform EKGs and assist providers with procedures.
- Complete lab orders for outpatient labs.
- Keep exam rooms clean, sanitize after each patient, and stock supplies.
- Manage inventory and maintain exam rooms.
- Check in and check out patients, schedule appointments, and coordinate specialist referrals.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and perform patient follow-up.
- Answer patient inquiries, phone calls, and return messages in a timely manner.
- Inform staff of patient flow and assist with patient preparation.
- Escalate critical cases and handle prior authorizations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and submit repair tickets.
- Handle opening/closing duties, cash out, and secure the building.
- Maintain reception area and handle mail/packages.
- Medical Assistant certification.
- Front office experience, including insurance and VOB knowledge.
- Clinical experience in EKG and phlebotomy.
- Prior experience and training in exercise (a plus).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR Certified.
- Must be willing to work three 12-hour shifts 8a.m - 8p.m.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
