New Mexico State University’s Civil Engineering Department invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position starting Fall 2026. This role is a 1.0 FTE appointment with a salary commensurate with experience.
50% Teaching: 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate/graduate; online and on-campus).
25% Research:
Securing external funding and publishing archival research.
25% Service:
Student advising/mentoring and university committee participation.
Education:
Bachelor’s and PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Licensure:
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred (or must be obtainable within five years).
- Geotechnical, Structural, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering, specifically focusing on Infrastructure Resilience:
Sensing, automation, digital twins, and robotics. - Informatics:
Spatial data analytics, data visualization, and asset management. - Materials: AI-assisted discovery, innovative manufacturing, and self-healing materials.
- Sustainability:
Clean energy (hydrogen/geothermal), energy harvesting, and AI-enabled water/environmental systems.
