Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Summary of ResponsibilitiesResponsible for executing equipment modifications, preventative, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance activities on site process refrigeration, comfort cooling, chilled water systems, and related building management systems. Providing technical administrative support for the Maintenance Work Control processes with moderate supervision or direction. Researches and develops various facets of work package preparation for the planner’s generation of work packages. Interfaces extensively with the Maintenance Mechanical and Electrical teams to ensure all materials and equipment are properly identified and are available for the completions of packages.
Interface with other departments such as Warehouse and Procurement to ensure all material, resources, and equipment are available through SAP and are ready for execution of the work packages developed by the planners.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- and knowledge using test equipment including common and special instrument and electrical tools as related to the trade.
- Knowledge of computer systems and software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong mechanical aptitude including an aptitude in math, science or computers.
- A relevant Associate’s degree, Journeyman’s License, vocational training or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Automated Logic BMS, Daikin/McQuay rooftop split/package systems, air‑cooled screw chillers, and low temperature chillers.
- The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.
- Work Schedule:
9/80 work week. Some nights and weekend support may be required. Employees are also subject to call‑outs as needed. - This job operates in an industrial, chemical and radiological plant environment. There is frequent walking, bending, standing, lifting of loads up to 100 pounds and climbing stairs throughout the plant following safety procedures.
- This position will require working indoors and outdoors at all temperatures.
- This position may require the employee to walk long distances (up to 3 miles) throughout the day, and stand for periods of up to 4 hours.
- The employee must possess the physical ability necessary to perform nuclear materials work. This includes:
- The ability to wear appropriate PPE for assigned tasks.
- Manual dexterity necessary to correctly maintain and repair plant equipment.
- Visual acuity necessary to inspect plant equipment for leaks and other visible flaws.
- Security Clearance Requirement:
Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required.
- Perform process equipment preventative, corrective and troubleshooting activities.
- Repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant procedures adhering to URENCO's policies regarding safety, maintenance, operations, and procedural compliance.
- Prepare work assignments in accordance with approved procedures, work orders, or supervisory direction, adhering to all safety requirements (chemical, radiological and criticality safety etc.).
- Create task instructions and assist Planners in the creation of work orders. Update procedures to ensure they are accurate, safe and workable.
- Accurately document work/performance history.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations and retests.
- Prepare timely and accurate trouble records for any maintenance problems and human errors.
- Complete documentation of work assignments in a real time manner to aid in the configuration management of the facility.
Compensation starting at: $72,094 - $94,571 / year and up dependent on candidate.
