External Sales Engineer

MCS are delighted to be partnered with a leading organisation operating within the Industrial Automation and Control sector to recruit a Sales Engineer covering Northern Ireland. The business is recognised for its technical expertise, strong supplier partnerships, and commitment to delivering innovative automation solutions to its customers. With a strong presence across the UK, the company continues to grow and strengthen its market position.

This role focuses on developing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships. The successful candidate will use their technical knowledge and commercial acumen to identify opportunities, deliver tailored solutions, and build long-term partnerships across the region.

Roles and Responsibilities Develop new customer relationships while growing existing accounts across Northern Ireland Identify customer needs and propose appropriate technical solutions Drive opportunities from initial enquiry through to successful conclusion Work independently to achieve sales targets and company objectives Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers Continuously update technical and product knowledge to stay current with industry developments

Essential Criteria and Qualifications Comprehensive knowledge or experience within the Industrial Automation and Control industry Previous experience in a sales-focused, customer-facing role Strong communication and organisational skills Results-driven with a high level of customer focus Ability to work independently and manage territory effectively Strong IT skills Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team What's on Offer Salary package between £40,000 - £55,000 Company car and travel allowance Performance-related bonus scheme Ongoing training and professional development Pension scheme Opportunity to work with a market-leading business and well-known suppliers Clear opportunities for career progression
