Housing Support Administrative Assistant
THE EMPLOYER IS: LARNE COMMUNITY CARE CENTRE - LARNE CRISIS ACCOMMODATION The Housing Support Administrative Assistant will provide basic administrative support and assist with the housekeeping and upkeep of LCCC accommodation. The role supports the smooth day-to-day running of crisis and temporary flats and is suitable for someone seeking an entry-level role within a community or housing environment. Full training, PPE, and support will be provided.
This role is subject to Access NI checks.
- Carry out basic administrative duties including filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry, updating spreadsheets, logs, and simple monitoring information accurately.
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to basic email enquiries.
- Assist with preparing standard letters, forms, and tenant paperwork.
- Maintain accurate paper and electronic records in line with confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
- Carry out routine housekeeping duties within LCCC flats (cleaning, laundry, basic upkeep), preparing flats for new tenants (bed-making, cleaning, restocking essential items) and support regular checks to ensure accommodation remains clean and safe.
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or health & safety concerns to the Housing Support Officer. Assist with inventory checks and reporting missing or damaged items.
- Assist with ordering cleaning and office supplies, and prepare welcome packs and information packs for tenants.
- Support staff with practical tasks as required.
- Respect tenant privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times, following LCCC health & safety, safeguarding, and lone-working procedures. Maintain professional boundaries when working in accommodation.
- Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and as instructed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
- Attend training, supervision, and team meetings as required.
- Willingness to carry out housekeeping and practical tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or caretaking experience.
- Previous office or administrative experience.
- Experience in a community, voluntary, or customer service setting.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
