Job Description SummaryWithin the multi‑specialty hub model, the Medical Assistant, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Practice Leader, is responsible for assisting in the delivery of healthcare and patient care management. This role assists the providers within the scope of practice to provide quality patient care, including gathering patient information, assessing patient requests, obtaining and monitoring vital signs, assisting with procedures, and adhering to infection prevention practices.
The position rotates between multi‑specialty practices as assigned based on patient volume demand.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, noting reason for visit, and documenting symptoms including frequency and severity.
- Prepare accurate medication lists utilizing medication review standard workflow.
- Document all required information in electronic medical records.
- Provide injections and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
- Assist during medical procedures.
- Obtain all patient information required to meet regulatory obligations.
- Track receipt of all results for all ordered tests.
- Perform POCT and all associated quality controls.
- Perform ECGs and place Zio patches per workflow protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Use electronic medical records and work off “task lists” to complete patient visits or requests.
- Follow critical lab result protocol.
- Provide patients with accurate information when answering questions and concerns.
- Maintain patient records and protect patient confidentiality.
- Complete referrals accurately and appropriately.
- Utilize closed‑loop communication to ensure providers and required staff are aware of patient status.
- Disinfect exam rooms between patients and all patient areas at the end of the day.
- Assist with clinic upkeep, including daily cleaning and supply ordering/inventory.
- Adhere to infection prevention practices related to IFUs, re‑processing standards of instruments and equipment.
- Remain calm and effective in an emergency or high‑pressure situations.
- Collaborate with team members on various ongoing projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with all OSHA and safety regulations.
- This position may require working in multiple locations.
Education: High school diploma or GED certificate required.
Licenses/Certifications: Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA or AMCA is required. BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
Experience: At least two years of related medical assisting experience with front and back office responsibilities at a physician’s office or other clinical setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in at least one specialty area preferred. Experience with insurance and prior authorization preferred.

CompensationThe posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with Marin Health’s compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
