Material Handler, Shipping 1st Shift

Description

The responsibility of this position is to ensure accurate storage and pulling of returnable product to the proper reverse distributor. This position requires strict attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. Product must be sorted and stored based on company SOP in a neat and organized manner. Products with approved return authorizations are assigned to a pick list and the items are pulled for the packing and shipping process.

Outbound shipments must be accurately pulled, shipped and properly entered into the WMS system. This position is responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe workspace. The position requires proficient use of computerized Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and Radio Frequency (RF) Scanners.

• Prepare workstation for daily functions and maintain workstation cleanliness.
• Verify that paperwork matches physical count of boxes to be shipped.
• Use UPS applications and CRM to ensure accuracy of shipping boxes.
• Weigh boxes to create tracking number(s).
• Label boxes with tracking label, place inventory inside and seal the box.
• Process multiple box shipments.
• Shrink-wrap pallet(s) and stage in designated area for pickup(s).
• Help load shipment onto the UPS truck either by hand truck, pallet jack or forklift.
• Close out UPS and provide summary report to carrier driver.
• Process Shipping by Common Carrier.

• Experience in order fulfillment, preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with RF Scanners, preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Software.
• Comfortable using a CRM for data entry purposes.
• Dependable, reliable, detail orientated and able to follow SOPs.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends when required.
• Forklift, Turret Truck, UPS, Fed Ex and Freight experience a plus.

• Must be able to stand, walk, reach and bend for up to 8 hours a day, with breaks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
• Comfortable using wearing PPE.
