Pre-Assessment Testing Nurse (PAT Tech) – United Surgical Partners International, Inc., Surg Center Pinellas, Tampa, FL.
The PAT Tech is responsible for organizing and directing pre‑admission testing activities in accordance with AAAHC, Medicare, and applicable federal, state, and local guidelines.
Responsibilities- Contact all patients by telephone prior to surgery to obtain medical and medication history.
- Communicate pertinent patient information to appropriate team members as indicated.
- Contact all patients with surgical arrival time the day before their procedure.
- Ensure that all patient responses are communicated to responsible practitioners and that all components of the PAT process are documented in accordance with standards of practice.
- Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Medical Assistant Certification Preferred or LPN License Required.
- Preferred one (1) year of experience in Pre/Post Op or PACU.
- BLS Certified.
- Demonstrated ability to apply organizational skills to facilitate a smooth flow of workload.
- Excellent communication skills both via telephone and in person.
- Maintain HIPAA & PHI confidentiality.
- Maintain or acquire skills on equipment necessary to complete required responsibilities.

- Use judgment in decision‑making.
- Demonstrate professionalism and ability to work as part of a team.
- Perform additional duties as needed by the department.
- Perform effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
